Ping pong is played by two or four players on a flat table divided by a net. Players take turns hitting a light, hollow ball with small paddles, trying to score points when the opponent fails to return the ball correctly. The game emphasizes quick reflexes, hand-eye coordination, and strategic thinking. Ping pong is an excellent activity for older adults because it combines low-impact physical exercise, cognitive stimulation, and social engagement, promoting overall health and well-being.
The Gillespie Center ping pong group meets on Wednesdays at 10am on the first floor you can access via the elevator. This is a relaxed environment for anyone to attend and learn for fun.
