Through social interaction we promote well being in ourselves and our communities.

What is The Shed?
The Gillespie Center Men’s Shed is a group of guys who meet every Thursday at 10:00 am at The Gillespie Center in Mound. They do a wide variety of activities that members themselves decide on.
These include going on local tours, listening to guest speakers, light community service projects, along with plenty of “just hanging out together” to swap tall tales
How did we start?
The Shed began several years ago in Australia as a means of bringing together men who, because of age or other factors were looking for companionship and meaningful relationships.

What do Men's Sheds do?
Shed members gather on a regular basis to drink coffee, hang out and swap stories. But more importantly, shed groups gather to provide a safe, friendly and healthy environment where men are able to work on meaningful activities in the company of other men.
A major objective is to advance the well being and health of their members and to encourage social inclusion. Shed maintains a welcoming, open door policy where members conduct themselves in a nondiscrimination manner and ensure and observe safe activity practices.
They aim at improving the well being of all men and they support their community.
