Happy New Year! As we step into 2026, I want to begin by saying how thankful I am—for this new year, for our incredible community, and for the continued support that allows us to grow and serve in meaningful ways.
Looking back, it’s inspiring to see all that we accomplished together. We expanded our free services, adding eyeglass services, blood pressure checks, and dementia screenings—important resources that support health and independence. We also increased the number of free seminars, with a strong focus on health and well-being, including informative presentations by Ridgeview Medical. Our programming was further enriched by special interest speakers, such as Minnesota author Doug Ohman, historian David E. Jones, and engaging art seminars that sparked creativity and conversation.
Connection and fun remained at the heart of what we do. We offered more excursions traveling together to theaters, sporting events, shopping destinations, museums, and casinos. Here at the Center, we hosted memorable gatherings including a Paint & Sip, a Volunteer Appreciation Event, and a Veterans Day Celebration honoring those who served.
We were also proud to be out in the community, participating in events at Culver’s, Back Channel Brewery, and Minnetrista Days, strengthening partnerships and sharing our mission with new friends.
None of this would be possible without support from our fundraisers—and what a year it was! From the Spring Fling Concert and Spaghetti Dinner, Bingo, and Cornhole Tournament, to a Summer Concert, Pancake Breakfast with Santa, and, of course, our unforgettable 25th Anniversary Celebration, each event brought people together while helping sustain our programs and services.
As we move forward into 2026, I am filled with gratitude and excitement. Thank you for being part of our journey—whether as a participant, volunteer, donor, or community partner. Together, we are building a vibrant, welcoming place where everyone belongs.
