The Gillespie Center - Caregiver Coaching

"Caregiver Coaching Program" Did you know that Senior Community Services offers a program called "Caregiver Coaching." Through our Senior Outreach Social Worker this program is offered through a network of metro agencies called Eldercare Partners. Caregiving isn't always easy. Caregiver Coaching is a program designed just for you, the caregiver. Here's how it works: your senior outreach social worker (Marian Danielson) guided interview process covering the many aspects of caregiving, helps you identify the issues of greatest concern. Together, we work out a plan designed to help YOU. Examples include:
		-Involving other family members in providing care -Finding resources that meet your needs -Handling memory loss and handling other difficult situations -Taking time for your own interests to prevent caregiver burnout
Together, we decide how often to check in to see how things are going, and to offer more assistance if you want it. This program is offered and partially funded through a grant from the Metropolitan Area Agency on Aging. There is no charge, although donations are always welcome.
